Smoke Season, the duo from Hollywood, released part 3 of 4, “Emilia,” from their Ouroboros EP. It is a wonderfully, dark continuation of the previous two parts, “Loose” (HERE) and “When The Smoke Clears” (HERE).
The band issued a statement in conjunction with “Emilia”:
“In this story, we wanted to present a real life human perspective on America’s immigration and deportation issues. So often we talk in hypotheticals when discussing our governmental policies regarding deportation of undocumented workers which leads people to take on a colder perspective. However, when we are forced to see a real face, family or person behind the hypothetical, like in this video, we have a different emotional response to the policy.”
When it comes down to it, this is the beauty of art with meaning and heartfelt realism. There is no denying that Smoke Season is aware of the social issues plaguing our country and they will continue to bring them to light through music and video. This is a wonderful set up for the final part of the short film dedicated to the Ouroboros EP.
