There are two types of people in this world when it comes to holiday music. Those who love it so much that they start listening in October and those who want to strangle said people.
Since we are only a week from the big day though, I thought it would be a good time to share our first true holiday post of the year. What is great about this song and video is that not only is it an awesome new take on a classic, but it also carries with it a great message.
Here at Lemonade, we discovered Night Argent a few years ago. Their rock infused pop is the perfect balance for anyone to enjoy and Chase Manhattan‘s lead vocals are right up there when it comes to texture and precision. This year they tackled a treasured classic in Christmas music, “Carol of the Bells”, and left it with a new and original twist. On top of that the music video for “Cold (Carol of the Bells)” reminds us to donate, if at all possible, to those who do not have a roof over their heads or a warm blanket when they sleep. It is a powerful message that should not be limited to just the holiday season. Sometimes we forget that there are 10 other months during the year.
For years Trans Siberian Orchestra has been the placeholder for this tune, but in my personal opinion, Night Argent‘s version blows it out of the water. The boys from Pasco, Washington have done good.
If you enjoyed “Cold (Carol of the Bells)” by Night Argent, pick up their self-titled EP on iTunes now.
Also if you are feeling generous, please donate. We suggest Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission (HERE), Mary’s Place of Seattle (HERE) or Northwest Harvest (HERE). If you can, please give. No one should be cold or hungry any time of year.
