Smoke Season has an EP coming soon called Ouroboros and we got a sneak peek at the video for the lead single, “Loose.” What is most interesting about this upcoming EP is that each song is a segment of a short film. As the band explained in our interview with them (which you can read here), “the concept of this film was born from the idea of accidental intervention.”
“Loose” is the first in the four-part series and focuses on a high school love triangle and the heartbreak that comes along with it. We meet a young woman who is clearly smitten with another female in her class and the two share flirtations. However, after attending a party, surrounded by friends, things get a little complicated for our leading lady. The video is a spot on representation of the judgment that follows us through our teenage years and how hard it can be to handle the unwarranted scrutiny. As the video comes to a close, we can only assume our leading lady’s fate, but as Smoke Season hinted, the series circles around accidental intervention. The only way to know for sure what happens is to see the next video!
As for the song, it is everything we have come to love about the duo of Gabrielle Wortman and Jason Rosen. Wortman’s ethereal voice puts the smoke in Smoke Season. Not only is “Loose” a phenomenal introduction to their upcoming EP but also an incredible tease as anticipation grows for Ouroboros’s release.
Without further ado, here is the video for “Loose”:
