Not exactly what you would expect from the heavy, nu metal rockstar, but Amy Lee of Evanescence has released the first single off of her new children’s LP, Dream Too Much. Yep, that’s right…a children’s album. The collaboration with her father and other family members is definitely not what Lee is known for, but interestingly enough it works, sort of.
Having been a fan of Evanescence since before Fallen was released, this departure is not unexpected from Amy Lee who has been dabbling with soundtracks and scoring movies in addition to her main project. It is just another box checked off of the musical checklist for the mother of two-year old, Jack.
The song itself, “Dream Too Much,” sounds like a combination of a lullaby and a crazy Sesame Street tune. The concept of letting your dreams run wild is pretty apparent with the lyrics referring to monkeys, muffins sleeping and raining grapes. Interestingly enough, the rest of the album is supposed to have some classics like, “Rubber Duckie” and the Beatles‘ “Hello Goodbye.”
If you are interested in owning the album, pre-order it exclusively on Amazon. Dream Too Much by Amy Lee will be released on September 30, 2016.
