What happens when you combine the summer’s hottest movie with music’s biggest acts? The phenomenon that is Suicide Squad. The movie and soundtrack complement each other to a tee and are sure to amp up the energy all summer.
The soundtrack features a wide array of artists from Imagine Dragons to Skrillex, Panic! At the Disco to Creedence Clearwater Revival, Twenty One Pilots to Eminem and everything imaginable in between. Each artist’s sound brings the perfect blend to back this movie filled with eclectic bad guys on a mission from the good guys. Both soundtrack and movie bring high energy from beginning to end and neither disappoint.
One of the standout tracks from the soundtrack, Panic! At the Disco’s cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody is the perfect homage to the original band as well as the film. I know a large amount of people were hesitant when they heard this cover was on the album, but the band had released a live video of them performing it about a year ago and dazzled then just as they do now. In fact, when the song is featured in the movie, it’s difficult to tell that it’s even a cover being used. 5 stars go to Panic! At the Disco for providing us with such a genuine tribute.
Suicide Squad is a must see for anyone looking for a fun, upbeat summer flick. The music is phenomenal and Jared Leto as the Joker is a lot of fun to watch. If you can stand to take a couple hours away from Pokemon Go, head over to your local theater and relish in the beauty of this movie and soundtrack. Do it. You won’t regret it.
