Simple Plan is back with their first album since 2011. Taking One For The Team is the band’s fifth studio album and it brings back all the feels from back in the day. If you were a fan of Simple Plan in the early 2000’s, this album will not disappoint.
A majority of the album sticks to their guitar heavy sound accompanied by catchy choruses. The band, however, does do a few collaborations that allow them to dabble in other genres. R. City brings a touch of reggae, Nelly brings a hint of funk, and Juliet Simms adds a little soul. There is no doubt that this album brings back a lot of nostalgic memories. While it is nothing terribly special, Taking One For The Team is an entertaining album that serves as a nice reminder for their fans that Simple Plan is still alive and kickin’.
