We are not always political, but we do have our leanings. That has never been in dispute. We also love artists that have a message in their music and newcomer, Sheera, is no different in that respects. The Los Angeles-based singer songwriter has released a brand new single, “We’re Here”, that is a strong anthem in response to all of the shootings in our nation’s schools. The heartfelt, encouraging single asks people to come together as a society to help end gun violence.
Sheera asks that we all stand up and speak out against the plague of violence, as a problem of this magnitude cannot be solved with non-action. The opening lyrics ask an important question, “What would it take for all of us/to stand up and say enough’s enough?” but it is not enough for the young artist. She is using her musical platform and influence to encourage and give a voice to the millennial generation with the creation of the We’re Here movement that focuses on her generational issues, like gun violence and more.
“We’re Here” is a powerful, anthemic single that will help bring a generation together. With Sheera‘s voice and influence, this is the start of something wonderful and meaningful. it is worth a listen and it is worth sharing. We look forward to more action and more music from LA’s Sheera.
