Having an artist that is sweet, kind and talented is an amazing find. And Montreal’s Sara Diamond is all of those things. Her latest single, “Stay A Little” is a wonderful expression of love. While this track may be a little bit of a break from her previous works, the singer-songwriter is just doing what she has set out to do since she was 4-years old. She sings. And when Sara Diamond sings, it immediately grabs your attention.
She knew by the time that she was 13 years old she was going to be in music and by the time she was 14 she had moved to Los Angeles from Montreal and joined The Clique Girlz. It did not last long and her experience with, as she states, “broken promises, rejections and half-met dreams” was enough to send her back to Canada. After some self-reflection, Sara Diamond re-emerged as a determined and unapologetic artist that now sings for the love of the music. She is done trying to cater to those who would try control her career with half-measures and lies.
“Stay A Little” is a raw, electro-pop track that entices the senses with minimalist intervention of instrumentation and relies heavily on her sweet, yearning vocals that are heavily influenced by early 1990s R&B and soul. As the track builds and Sara Diamond‘s voice reach its peak, the amount of emotional tension and desire is conveyed flawlessly. The song is enchanting and commands attention. What more could you want from an artist?
