When PVRIS announced their upcoming album, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell, a silent fist pump may or may not have happened while sitting at my desk. The Lowell, Massachusetts trio, consisting of lead singer and guitarist Lyndsey Gunnulfsen, guitarist Alex Babinski and bassist Brian MacDonald, has been hard at work preparing for their upcoming tour with Muse, 30 Seconds To Mars and Lights, but they have had enough time to produce two music videos, one for “Heaven”, and the latest for their second single, “What’s Wrong”.
The track is dark and brooding, but that is nothing terribly new for PVRIS. In a way it feels like this anthem is about dealing with an internal struggle regarding some significant change whether it be fame, a relationship or something entirely different. The darkness surrounding the lyrics are turned into a visually stunning black and white effort that is rife with gothic themes. Honestly, I could not think of a better way for PVRIS to introduce this song.
“What’s Wrong” is a hard-hitting, anthemic song that does nothing to diminish the excitement or hype that is surrounding the upcoming sophomore release. The dark electro-pop band is paving the way for their new album with bricks of solid gold.
You can pre-order the upcoming album, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell by PVRIS, on iTunes and it will be available worldwide on August 4, 2017. In the mean time, check out the new music video for “What’s Wrong” below.
