Even in 2017, it is exceedingly rare to see an Asian musician or artist make waves on the radio. I am not trying to be racist at all. Just stating a fact. And as a writer of Asian heritage finding someone I can connect to on a cultural level is refreshing. Fortunately, we were turned on to an artist, PRIME, who calls himself a “citizen of the world.” The New York-based electro-pop artists, who hails from The Philippines, has put out a brilliant new single, “Poison”.
The multi-cultural artist, who is of Filipino, Spanish, Chinese, and Indian descent, takes all of those influences and filters them into a cohesive track that is worldly, entertaining and translatable into any language. His ability to flawlessly blend hip-hop, rock, pop, dance, R&B and the kitchen sink into a single track is amazing and highly catchy. PRIME is truly is a worldly specimen with a talent to turn electro-pop rock on its head.
Luckily for us, we had a chance to get in on the ground floor of PRIME‘s inevitable rise to stardom and now is your chance to do the same.
