For years we have been following the career of Olivia Millerschin. The Michigander, who has charmed up with lovely, quirky tracks, made an appearance on America’s Got Talent as part of the trio Livy, Matt & Sammy. We have had the absolute pleasure of having chatted with the singer-songwriter and now she has produced a lovely music video for her latest single, “Long Weekend”.
Her charming, sweet vocals are exactly what folk/Americana was designed for. Olivia Millerschin is producing some of the best regional music right now and should be a star. The single is a tender, heartbreaking track that shows off the wonderful range and breaks in her sweet vocals, while being able to harmonize with collaborator Michael Grubbs.
The music video is an interpretation of the song with dancers, Lillie Hamilton and Steven Eatmon, and was choreographed by Bianca Brengman. The intertwining shows the couple dancing in harmony and at times at odds, like trying to find individualism within a relationship. It is a beautiful series of movements and it is interesting. The music truly stands apart. It is Olivia Millerschin‘s tender voice that brings the whole thing to life. It is definitely worth watching, but really, the music is what you should be chasing down.
You can pick up “Long Weekend” (featuring Michael Grubbs) by Olivia Millerschin on iTunes now, but I would recommend picking up her latest album, Look Both Ways, instead. You will not be disappointed. And check out the music video below or on YouTube.
