When local LA band, Voxhaul Broadcast, broke up in 2012 it left room for a revival of sorts. In the summer of 2017, former members of the Los Angeles-based crew, David Dennis and Tony Aguiar, met and sequestered themselves in the infamous Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, CA. The duo from Highland Park, CA, now re-branded as OCNSIDE (pronounced “oceanside”), took the time to create a completely new style that is filled with soul and R&B mixed with a peppy, upbeat sound. Their debut single, “Taking Me Over”, is the result of their new collaboration.
If you have every been in love or remember the fluttery feelings of a new relationship, then OCNSIDE‘s single, “Taking Me Over”, is the track for you. It is simply a love song. A love song that flirts with the type of love that, literally and figuratively, takes you over.
“The song is really just about love. That all-encompassing and powerful feeling that love gives,” Tony Aguiar confirmed, “Once you find it, you never want to let go and you never want it to end. You just let it take you over.”
The track is a summery song which reflects OCNSIDE‘s positive, cheery attitude and is infectious and toe-tapping sound that would liven up any summer barbecue. Honestly, if this pop song is not apart of your vacation playlist, you are missing out.
