In August of 2016, Northern National, a rock band out of Dallas, TX, was born and quickly released their debut EP, The New Age, the following month. It was praised with rave reviews and their debut single, “Love Is Fire”, was picked up by Spotify and VEVO and given a lot of love. With the help of producer Dan Stringer (X Ambassadors, Ms. Lauryn Hill), the alternative rock quintet put together an clean, precise sound that is a little beach pop, but is filled with heavier rock themes.
Well, the Dallas boys have dropped a brand new single, “MoneyBlind”, that is in the same musical vein as X Ambassadors and Kings of Leon and is their first co-written effort by the entire band. The track shows their single-mind and cohesiveness toward a common goal and the result is fantastic.
The wailing guitar of Andrew Supukski blended with solid toe-tapping percussion of drummer Anthony Comas and bassist Dylan Greene, make “MoneyBlind” a re-playable track that is ready for the upcoming summer months. And behind vocalist Michael Rossi and pianist Michael Kanne, the upbeat track is given depth and purpose. The guys of Northern National blends the best of alternative, southern rock and indie to create a unique yet approachable sound.
And on top of that, Northern National have a wonderful message with their latest single. The band states, “To us, “MoneyBlind” is a reminder that however much success we achieve – to not sacrifice the people, morals, and loved ones that matter most in your life. The road might be slower, but it’ll be worth it in the end.”
Not sure it gets any better than that.
