After Mimi Page released her debut LP, Breathe Me In, in February 2012, she went on a small tour and went back into her home studio to write and release a couple new original tracks via YouTube and SoundCloud. Combining them with a cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” and her version of Skyrim’s “Secunda,” she released the Requiem EP in March 2013.
While Breathe Me In is much more vocal heavy, Page progresses her songwriting and arrangements with a more fluid and ambiance-filled sound on Requiem. While her sound has always been dark and moody, she delves deeper into the soul and extracts the depth and sensation of human emotions. “Treading The Abyss” is a perfect example of the heartfelt connection she can make. If she is in the area and is performing, getting to that concert should be a top priority.
