LOVE SICK makes brilliant music. Their debut single, “Bullet”, was wonderful track that incorporated quirky, energetic synths bound together with pop-sensible vocals and dance-inducing rhythms (full review: HERE). Now the Scottish duo, who met at a company Christmas party, are back with their sophomore single, “Hope”.
Having recently made the move to make Glasgow their permanent base, the songwriting compatriots take their distinctive and achingly beautiful style into the struggles of life with “Hope”. The duo, while balancing a multitude of different responsibilities, have still found time to write, perform and produce high quality music about real life.
“‘Hope’ is a song about chasing your dreams envisaging them right in front of you mixed with the struggles and anxieties you have to overcome to get there, with the silver lining being the hope that one day you will,” LOVE SICK explains. “We spent a lot of time traveling between Glasgow and London exploring opportunities and hustling – writing, recording, meeting lots of new people. Sometimes all that hard work can feel like it’s for nothing, but you keep going and this song represents our journey so far.”
And what a journey it has been. From a tipsy chance meeting at a work function and fated encounter at a train station a few weeks later, an unique, fun experiment has turned into a passionate artistic partnership producing interesting music.
