About a year ago, we uncovered a wonderfully special trio called Luci and the release of their single, “Can’t Be Along With You” (HERE). The trio of ladies, which includes McKail Seely, Ashley Maietta and Ariana Tibi, have found an interesting and unique take on folk pop with stellar harmonies on their newest single, “Ashes (Stripped)”.
With “Ashes (Stripped)” being their debut single across all major musical platforms, Luci have finally introduced the world to their stunning vocals and undeniable chemistry. With their minimalist instrumentation on this track, the trio needed their enthralling voices to shine through. They delivered.
This brilliant song, while rooted in folk and pop, still includes elements of blues and soul that pluck those tender heartstrings. Their sound is raw and, at times, dissonant which adds to the charm and authenticity of the song’s deeper emotional strife that we deal with on a daily basis in our personal relationships. It is an interesting juxtaposition considering that the trio’s harmonies are perfectly choreographed knowing where each is supposed to be and are deeply in sync.
Luci have found a wonderful balance of musical minimalism and a richness and fulfilling melodies that are catchy, yet intimate. You feel what they feel and you hang on each lyric. This is a song that needs to be heard. Then follow these three simple tasks: Listen. Share. Repeat.
