Today is the first day of Spring and here in the Pacific Northwest it is a stunning day. And for the season that is all about renewal and rebirth, we have the perfect new music video from Highland Kites. The brand new single, “Better Off”, is a heartfelt, charming single about starting over and removing yourself from toxic relationships.
The video itself is a visual representation of the ugliness that surrounds you on a daily basis. It is always holding you back and corrupting what you see and how you see it by the representation of the heroine’s black eyes. Eventually, the heroine, played by lead singer Marissa Lamar, is able to break free and find her true self once again.
“Better Off” is a gentle, sweet track that focuses on loving and being better to yourself. Really, you know what you need as a person better than any other and Highland Kites is just reminding you that you deserve better than the poison of negativity.
