We do not review a lot of music in the Top 40, but occasionally, when we believe it should be shared, we step out of our comfort zone and give it a whirl. Halsey, who is one of the best up and coming singer-songwriters in pop music today, has released a brand new video for her single, “Bad At Love”. The song is a self-proclaimed autobiographical track that goes over past relationships that have failed because of what she “did to fucked [them] up.”
The video is an interesting representation of the song as it follows our heroine, Halsey, who is attempting to flee a bounty of $20,000. She stops at a gas station to fuel up her bike, but runs into a group of outcast ladies who taunt her. As she is engaged with the gang a couple of cops roll up to the convenience store. The girl gang distracts the police and proceed to escape with Halsey as a new initiate into their group.
The “Bad At Love” video certainly vibes with theme of her album, hopeless fountain kingdom, and seems to be a continuation of her previous video for “Now Or Never”. There is not anything particularly inventive about the video, but it is well done and well produced and “Bad At Love” is probably one of the stronger tracks on a great album that features “Strangers”, “Eyes Closed” and the aforementioned “Now Or Never”.
