The lead singer of the Bay Area-based duo Chance’s End, Emily Zisman’s sophomore solo record, Weeds & Wildflowers, is a grassroots folk, acoustic album that is full of variety and imagery. “Bottle & Bowl” sparks images of summertime sitting on the porch sipping a glass of iced tea to “Knockin’,” which is bluesy, rhythmic track. There are so many different sounds throughout, but still maintains continuity.
This album brings together Emily Zisman’s lovely, playful vocals with down-to-earth songwriting and relatable lyrics. Weeds & Wildflowers is a well-structured and excellent record. Enjoy it. It is worth owning.
