Lights was brilliant, Halcyon was an even more polished form of brilliance and now the latest addition to Goulding‘s discography, her brand new release, Delirium, shows off a somewhat different side of her. Where is Lights and Halcyon relied on her delicate, yet powerful vocals, Delirium is up-tempo, basically from start to finish and shies away from “big voice moments.”
Of course, there are some minor exceptions such as the very popular single, “Love Me Like You Do”, but Delirium – for the most part – is all about keeping the energy high. As I was talking about before, this album seems to reflect the type of live show Goulding likes to put on.
At the end of the day, Delirium is another strong release from one of the biggest stars out there right now. I almost feel like if a track like “Love Me Like You Do” hadn’t already been out for so long, the listening experience may have been a lot different for me, as I do believe it is probably the strongest track on the album. With that said, Ellie Goulding‘s latest single, “On My Mind”, as well as “Army” and “Scream It Out” all stand out. Delirium gets better with each listen and will certainly make those who have been craving new music from Goulding, very happy campers.
