The best part about women in country music is the originality we are getting to listen to right now. It probably seems like I have said this a million times in a million ways, but it is true. Although male country stars continue to sell out shows and enjoy a large fan base, it is the girl power in the genre that is keeping it from getting stale.
Much like most artists out there, Carly Pearce could easily fill the “starving artist with a dream” BINGO board. Whether it be love, breaking up or the bumpy path that lead her to the release of her debut full-length album, Every Little Thing, she covers them all nicely with her own unique style.
That being said, for those of you who are fans of conventional modern country, Carly Pearce still has that appeal as well. Sporting a fuller voice than other current artists such as Kacey Musgraves and Maren Morris, Pearce would remind some of Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum with hints of a throwback to the 1990s and Sara Evans.
Standout tracks include the first track, “Hide The Wine”, “If My Name Was Whiskey” and “Dare Ya”. What is even better is that the country songstress wrote or co-wrote a bunch of the songs including previous mentioned “If My Name Was Whiskey” and “Dare Ya”. Every Little Thing is a solid debut from Carly Pearce that is sure to please country fans and potentially hook a few casual listeners as well.
