Amos Lee’s fifth studio release, Mountains of Sorrow, Rivers of Song, is exactly what is expected from the Philadelphia-native folk-rock singer-songwriter. The album is a blend of his typical down-tempo folk-rock sound and the more upbeat sounds of bluegrass and is solid and filled with tracks of stinging banjo, standing double bass and, of course, Lee’s smoky and raspy vocals.
Fans of Amos Lee will absolutely love this record and will not be disappointed. If you are looking for something a little different from Lee, it will satisfy that need as well. Worth having in any collection and for the first time an Amos Lee record will be on vinyl.
