It is not terribly often that an artists who skyrocketed to child stardom early in his career can disappear from the spotlight with no new music for 15 years and make a comeback with any sort of fanfare with new content. Aaron Carter is unique in that sense and is making some headway in that department with is new EP, LøVë.
I have to admit that I was not really a fan of the now 29 year-old singer back at the height of his popularity in 2003. Boy bands and the teenie pop genre were not really my thing, but the decade and a half break has given the Florida-native a lot of time to rediscover and reinvent himself.
LøVë takes advantage of Carter‘s maturing themes and sound. He has always had a bit of a hip-hop edge, but on this EP he has gone a bit back toward his natural singing abilities that has now grown a bit raspy and gravelly. Each of the tracks are well produced with an updated modern feel with lots of dark electro-pop and R&B vibes.
This EP is nothing trendsetting or unique, but it is filled with good Top 40 tracks like, “Fool’s Gold” and “Sooner Or Later”, that will more than likely bring Aaron Carter back from the abyss. It is also worth noting that these tracks have solid beats that will probably make them popular in the clubs. Aaron Carter is attempting to make a valiant comeback and LøVë is a good starting point. So if you are looking for something a little nostalgic, but has been taken up a notch, then you should give Carter‘s re-imagination a chance and pick up the new EP.
LøVë by Aaron Carter is out now and is available on iTunes.
