Her background explains a lot though. What I personally find so fascinating about her is that she’s very smart and very eloquent, yet her work has an edge to it and is emotionally pretty raw. It’s not often that you come across someone with those sort of dynamics.
I’ve interviewed so many incredible artists over the past nine years, but when I find someone like Olivia, it always excites me, because it feels like getting the rookie card of a future hall of fame-r. It may sound hipster to say it, but discovering someone’s talent without the influence of popular opinion will always be one of my favorite parts of Lemonade Magazine.
