I’ve been interviewing artists for over a decade now and for the most part, I have been pretty lucky. Every once in a while you run into someone who pretty obviously would rather be anywhere else than doing an interview, but I try to be sympathetic toward that. We’ve all had those days and wouldn’t we rather be relaxing than working most days too? That said, the majority of my interviews have been great. The artists are usually very personable, down-to-earth, and grateful for your time. I too am very grateful, as we would be nothing here without them.
Then you have that other group of people, the people who are an absolute blast to talk to. I usually go into every interview expecting to get a few questions into a 15-20 minute time limit and then parting ways. Sometimes though you run into someone who loves what they’re doing and loves what surrounds it so much that they get lost in talking about it. This week’s guest, Kara Connolly, was simply fantastic to chat with. Whether we were talking about other artists, her work, or just simply living on the West Coast, she discussed all of it with so much enthusiasm and excitement. These sort of artists really do make music as great as it is and trust me…after listening to Kara just once, you will know she is bound for big things.
Along with our chat, we played Kara’s brand new single “Other People” and I also played new songs from Talker, Katey Brooks, and Gabi DiPace. I hope you enjoy the show! Make sure to share it with your friends over social media and leave us a rating. Thanks for listening! -Brandon
