LA-based singer/songwriter Elline‘s debut EP, Stained Glass, is artistic and beautifully developed. The Berklee College of Music graduate’s smooth and easy vocals caress her story-like lyrics with subtle grace on each of the 4 tracks. The down-tempo rhythmic sound serves to enhance the uniqueness and quality of Elline‘s voice.
And while the arrangements seem relatively simplistic, the overall complexity of each song challenges and forces the listener to decide what is important. It drives the focus to the heart of the artist’s true talent instead of distracting from the faults.
Its radio-ready lead single, “Smoke + Mirrors”, is an updated version of a throwback 90s R&B hits with a bit more soul, electronic influence and with a lot more style and class. The track is engrossing and refined with an artistic presence not seen in most current pop music. Not only is it a catchy, engaging tune, it is flawless in its structure and delivery.
Stained Glass EP embodies true creativity and an emotional journey. It is beautiful. It is exquisite.
And if you are looking for something new and unique, but has a touch of old school and want real music without the overproduced auto-tuned tracks on the radio, then pick up Stained Glass and immerse in its emotional and appealing sound.
