Lemonade Magazine has been following the young career of Pittsburgh-native singer/songwriter, Brooke Annibale, for years. We first heard her sweet, smoky vocals and folk-inspired guitar riffs on her brilliant album, Silence Worth Breaking, in 2011. In 2013, Annibale followed up her previous record with a more mature and layered sound on her EP, Words In Your Eyes, while still maintaining her signature voice and brilliant, poetic lyrics.
The Simple Fear is dominated by Annibale’s unique and steady indie-folk vibe. Her honey-dipped and hushed vocals are flooded with emotion that most artists can only dream of. The heartbreaking single, “Remind Me” is filled with longing for an apology that never comes, but every word sung is filled with hopeful reconciliation. Like “Remind Me” the rest of the album questions all of Annibale‘s wants and desires wondering if those dreams will ever come to fruition.
Brooke Annibale sings with her soul and it shows through on every track of The Simple Fear. Her seductive voice enchants and mesmerizes leaving you wanting more. The Simple Fear is really the definition of what it is means to be an independent singer/songwriter.
And now her highly-anticipated follow-up album, The Simple Fear, will be available to listeners and fans on October 2, 2015 on iTunes.
